I remember being at the Trissur Pooram in Kerala in 2011 with many decorated elephants and riders (Google it) and the 3rd day at the impressive finale with maybe 30 elephants, in a crowd of what was said to be over a million, I focused on getting to the outside of the crowd and then to a place where I couldn't get crushed. It was to me an obvious thing to do. No one got hurt. It was so impressive.
